The syndrome of right bundle branch block, ST segment elevation from V1 to V3 and sudden death is a new entity. This disease is genetically determined. The incidence of sudden death in this syndrome is very high and, at present, can only be prevented by implanting a cardioverter-defibrillator. The electrocardiogram is a marker of sudden death in symptomatic, but also in asymptomatic individuals.
