Dear Friends:
As you may or may not know,
a little over four months ago I experienced a cardiac incident in Florida. It
was diagnosed as Brugada Syndrome. I was
one of the fortunate ones to have a cardiologist familiar with the
syndrome. At this time there is no cure;
the only treatment is an implantable cardio defibrillator.
Through the Internet, my
family began corresponding with Dr. Ramon Brugada, one of the founding brothers
of the Ramon Brugada Sr. Foundation. Three weeks after my implant I was
privileged to hear Dr. Brugada speak at a symposium for Electrophysiologists in
Hartford, CT. After personally meeting
with him that evening, I was in awe of his remarkable dedication, along with
his two brothers, in discovering this life threatening syndrome and their
ongoing research.
It was then that our family
discussed how we could help the Brugada Foundation. Thus, the golf tournament was conceived. Attached please find our “Save the Date”
flyer. Dr. Pedro Brugada is scheduled
for golf and Dr. Ramon Brugada may attend the dinner. I hope you can join us on September 14th
or consider making a donation to the Brugada Foundation, sponsoring a hole
($100.00) or contributing a prize.
I encourage you to take a
moment to learn about Brugada Syndrome at www.Brugada.org
or www.mmrl.edu. Thank you for your consideration and please
don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Bob Britton
