We have updated the 'Avoid list' with the drug Oxcarbazepine.

The patient letters have been translated into many different languages already,
we also provide a Google translation tool for other languages.

Sorry this is a bit late, but for those not registered with brugadadrugs.org you may not have seen the following update.

"Dear subscriber to the BrugadaDrugs.org update service,

With this email we would like to inform you on an update on www.BrugadaDrugs.org. The drug procaine (an analgesic) has been added to the Avoid list (www.brugadadrugs.org/avoid/). You can find more information at the website, and you can now also download updated patient letters which can be given to all health care professionals (www.brugadadrugs.org/patient-letter/).

Please be aware that procaine may be added to other drugs such as antibiotics for intramuscular injection (to mitigate the pain following the injection). We advice you to be watchful when receiving antibiotic injections. Still, antibiotics may be very important for Brugada patients in the occurence of a bacterial infection which causes fever, as some patiente may have a fever sensitive form of Brugada syndrome.

Please know that, as every patient is unique, not all the listed drugs will be harmful for every Brugada syndrome patient, and that some drugs may be beneficial for other reasons. However, we advice great caution and close monitoring when any of these drugs are administered. For detailed information on the drugs we refer to the website.

On this page we have included answers to the many questions and suggestions for improvement that arrived through the survey since November and through our contact form in the last year. We have chosen to separate the questions into those from physicians and other medical professionals and into those from patients and/or their family members.
